p for padma

P for Padma is a non-profit organization working toward a cure for women’s uterine sarcoma. P for Padma mobilizes to educate people and to find a cure for uterine cancer. To the young women reading early-detection pamphlets, to the women with uterine cancer, to the survivors of cervical cancer, and to our mothers, P for Padma is a community of strength. To our friends, to our children, to our families, to our allies, and to humanity, P for Padma is the movement for the cure.

After over a decade of working on the University of California, Irvine Student Outreach and Retention (SOAR) Center proposal, it has finally come true as of fall of 2011. I came back to visit my old colleagues and students to find our mascot Peter the Anteater soaring all around campus in his nifty paper airplane (100% recycled of course).

You’re looking good Peter. Keep up the good work.

Zot Zot!

Which UC Irvine center has the most awesome piece of artwork on their wall of all?

Edwina Dai Cross-Cultural Center Mural

The UC Irvine Cross-Cultural Center! That’s who!

This past year I’ve had the pleasure to work on a public art project for the Cross-Cultural Center (CCC). I’m the luckiest person in the world! Don’t get me wrong, this wasn’t an easy project to plan, it went through quite a few revisions but it has finally come together. I hope future, present and uhm.. seasoned Anteaters will be proud!

There will be an *unveiling* (because it’s currently hidden.. oh mysterious o_o) Week 0 of the Fall Quarter on Thursday, September 22, 2011.

This couldn’t have been done without Steph Li and Yaron Hakim. You two are beasts. Amazing, creative, ingenious beasts. Lots of blood sweat and tears went into this 18 foot tall by 12 foot wide paneled piece of deliciousness. Nomnomnom.

My Dream Team is Boss

The night before our in-progress mural session, I sent out a last call for my Dream Team ( Josh Huang, Kristy Li, Chris RuizJessica EnriquezDaisy Herrera, Stef Sung, Jaimie WanAnthony Pham and many more) to come work their magic. The magic worked and I’m blown away.
